Angelo and Sophia : Woodland Wedding : Tyler Texas

Woodland Wedding

An extra-dear-to-my-heart wedding coming right up! You’ll quickly notice that Sophia, the bride, looks like she could be my sister. And you’d be correct, she is in fact my wonderful little sister. I often describe her as the sweetest person you could possibly meet and in the most genuine way that could be. We didn’t know what type of guy would be ‘good enough’ for Sophia. But now we know, His name is Angelo. He’s a smart, talented, kind Italian with a tender heart that loves Sophia deeply. I think I speak for all of us that know them when I say they are perfect for each other.

After they got engaged (In the middle of the crazy snow Texas got in February.) they set the date for Nov. 6th. Sophia really wanted an outdoor wedding so we all started praying the weather would be conducive. When planning out the theme and decor Sophia wanted a “woodland fairy” feel. So they found a place surrounded by pine trees for the ceremony and reception. And we used moss, candles, and logs for decor. There’s no way I can thank all our friends and family enough for helping bring their vision to life. You all truly made dreams come true.

“…quite possibly the biggest bridal party you’ve ever seen!”

Sophia loves the color mustard so she and one of her bridesmaids planted yellow Billy Balls in the Spring to make sure they had enough for the wedding. When I say ‘had enough’ it’s because they had quite possibly the biggest bridal party you’ve ever seen! All the girls wore sage and varying shades of ‘lagoon’ blue. The guys wore a cool combination of grays. There is a bunch of talent in this bridal party. Angelo’s sister made the most adorable cake topper, another brother and his wife sang for the ceremony, others gave really great and heartfelt speeches and toasts, and all of them worked hard to make the day as special as possible.

The day was blessed with beautiful weather and a sunset that photographers dream about. Like I said, the ceremony was held next to a forest of pine trees. Sophia brought sand back from Angelo’s family home in NY for their sand ceremony. All of the (14) siblings from both families sang a song together while Sophia played the piano. Our dad performed the ceremony. And Sophia put together a very talented group of friends from all over the country to help with music. After a fun reception with yard games, some Italian soup, berry cobbler, and even a hayride. The couple made their getaway in the cutest carriage pulled by Sparkles the miniature pony.

The day was so Sophia and Angelo, sweet, people orientated, and God-honoring. We are all so very happy for them both!
