Union Station Indianapolis Wedding
Where do I start with this lovely wedding? I’ll start at the beginning of Sara and Doug’s story. They met a couple years ago when on a whim they were both at the same convention in Indianapolis. On one of the evenings of the convention, a dance was held at Union Station. The station as its name suggests is an old train station that has been turned into an event venue and hotel. On the night of the dance Sara and Doug were the only two from their friend group that wanted to attend the event. They stood on the balcony and talked for hours and found themselves very attracted to each other. The rest is history.
Doug and Sara don’t live in Indy but wanted to get married in the same place where they had had their first meaningful conversation. Fortunately for them, the station is also a wedding venue. Sara put so much thought into every single detail of the day. She also paid tribute to her lovely mother who passed away recently. She wore her mother’s wedding gown for the ceremony and her mother’s bridal hat. Everywhere you turned you could see thought and care put into fun and meaningful details. I loved the vintage/art deco vibe the building and accessories were giving off.
“Doug and Sara danced the night away…”
The ceremony was held at Tabernacle Presbyterian Church and afterward, they traveled by trolley to take pictures in downtown Indy. The sun came out, the weather was gorgeous. We found some summer flowers and also some trees that were starting to change. It was just perfect. After a delicious meal and heartfelt toasts, Doug and Sara danced the night away in the same room they had met.
