I’ve been waiting to tell you this news since December!
I haven’t been this excited about a new photography idea in a long time,
and I can finally share it with you!
{Drum roll, please}
Announcing the first ever {Real Time Wedding Workshop}!
As we all know, there are many different types of workshops out there,
one day workshops, weekend workshops, week long internships and so on…
They do a wonderful job teaching you branding, basic to advanced photography, blogging, portraiture, editing etc.
But how many times have you run across a workshop that will actually be centered around a real wedding, with a real bride and groom and real life situations that come up while shooting?!
{Here is a little behind the scenes on why I decide to offer a workshop like this}

The workshop will start on Friday afternoon.
You will get pointers on what to do and we’ll go over what equipment you have and how it should be used.
On Saturday you will be able to shadow me the entire day and then have a training time afterward.
I’ll let you be right there as I set up the shots, pose groups, interact with the bridal party, document the ceremony, play around with cool shots at the reception, capture the getaway and
I’ll show you how I make a slideshow for the wedding guests to view at the reception.
After the wedding we’ll go hangout with our computers and learn how to edit and what to do once you have all your images finished and ready to go.
I’ll show you my blogging process and what I give my clients.
It’s amazing how much you can learn from actually doing something yourself!
You can read about it, watch youtube videos “how to’s”
but there’s nothing like really being able to try your hand at it.
Here’s some info you need to know.
You will need a DSLR camera, a laptop and Lightroom 2 or higher on your laptop.
{You can download the 30 day trial version if you don’t own LR yet.}

There will only be two spots available for this workshop due to the intensity of the training and the amount of individualized time I would like to give to each attendee.
You won’t be my official second shooter so there will be no pressure on you, hopefully just fun times and lots of learning.

That's so totally rocking awesome!!!! And yes, this is the best way to learn if you are interested in getting into weddings. HIGHLY recommend this! I was one of those "Lucky enough" to have this kind of opportunity when I first got my start and it for sure jump started my business! Evy, this is outstanding! And what a rare opportunity for someone! There is nothing like being there for the real deal! This is the real deal!
Nice video job! You have a good plan and it should be a huge help to someone wanting to see how a wedding day is put together from the photographer's point of view. Not to mention a fun time!

I would love to do something like this in the future, but that weekend is my graduation.

Kayla, I'll let you know if I do another one, and Melissa, you could travel to one, or who knows, I might just be in VA next 😉
I like to use a Canon 50mm 1.4 and a 24-70mm as my staples, with some other lenses thrown in there some times.
