Saturday was a gorgeous day up in the lake country of Indiana. We started the day at the home the bride’s dad built and that she grew up in. Getting ready was a family affair, when we arrived there were at least four generations of Brittany’s family around excitedly getting ready for the long-awaited day. And Brittany’s dad was thrilled they were going to use his special car for the ‘get-away’. After we had the first look and portrait time we headed over to the tiniest little church for a sweet ceremony. The Oakwood Resort is one of my favorite places to shoot weddings so of course, I was thrilled when Brittany told me that’s where the reception would be!

Andrew and Brittany met for the first time in first grade, I still think that’s just so sweet and cute. Brittany wasn’t that into Andrew back in the day but things changed as they got older and after years of waiting they finally became husband and wife. Andrew and Brittany complement each other well and it’s cool they’ve known each other for most of their lives. The day went very smoothly and was a joy to be a part of.

Brittany did a great job picking out vendors for the day and everything looked lovely with ponds, grassy fields, and The Oakwood Resort as backdrops.

A few of my favorite memories from the day? Having Brittany’s grandpa throwing the petals down the aisle was a new twist and super sweet. And literally sneaking out of the reception and scaling tall stone walls for a few more portraits because the sun was being amazing.

Andrew and Brittany, congratulations to you guys, we wish you all the best!  You’re going to live kinda close to us now, let’s hang out again, k?
