Since I’m taking a break from shooting for the month I thought I’d get some feedback from all you awesome blog readers as far as questions you have about photography, shooting, weddings, making creme brulee, and etc.
Ok, I’m not an expert in any of these topics especially not the creme brulee, although I do make it quite often and somehow it has turned out every time I’ve tried it….so far.
Anyways, I get emails and messages from you all asking photography questions and I thought it might be helpful or fun to answer some of them in a blog post.
If you want to ask something just leave a comment on this blog and once I get a few that I think would be good candidates, I’ll write a post on it.
If no one has anymore questions I’ll just pretend this post never was written and forget about the idea,
but if you have some question that you want to throw out there I would be more than happy to answer the best I can.

On another note…
I’ve had some of you come up to me and tell me “I follow your blog but I don’t comment because I don’t want to seem like a stalker”,
nothing would be further from my mind!
I love getting to “meet” you whether in person or online.
I think it’s totally cool and there’s nothing “creppy” about it.
So please don’t let that stop you from saying hello sometime.
I just met one of you in Starbucks a few days ago and it totally made my day that you would come up and say hey.
So, I just wanted to thank you all for the support you show me and my photography and I hope some way or another I can meet a lot more of you in the days ahead.

I've been told it's stalking even if ya know the person, but, anyway, thought I'd just stop by and say "hey!!". :o)
Maybe you did a post about this already and I missed it, but what about pictures of your sweet little home? I've always loved your style. :o)

P.S. Btw, that creme brulee looks super yummy!! Ya know, I've never had it or made it…guess I'll have to make a trip up and have you make some for me. ;o)

I am going to ask to borrow a friend's 5d for my brothers wedding, and I was wondering what lens you would recommend using. I really don't want to be switching lenses throughout the day, yet I want to get good results.(Duh) 🙂
Sigh. I'm a stalker. 🙂 because I mostly think you and your husband are the cutest couple ever. and as a side note I think that your baby will be the cutest baby ever. so you better post pictures when it comes! 😉 praying that it will be a smooth and quick delivery, by the way. 🙂
question: how do you advertise? how did your business get to be as big as it is now?
Another stalker here. And another Emily.
Your work is beautiful!
Anyways, here's my questions:
1. As a Canon user, was lens would you recommend for child/portrait photography?
2. I love how you have your own photography style. Yet the client's style shines though as well.
Any advice on how to both find your own style and incorporate the client's style at the same time?
Thank you for your time!
Emily
I have a question! When shooting in available natural light, what's the trick to getting bright eyes with a lovely catchlight?
Thanks for writing posts and sharing your lovely pictures! I've been following for about a year now.
Oops! Accidentally pressed enter before I finished typing in my blog address! hehe
Hey Evy!
I've emailed you before about your workshops 🙂
I have so many questions about wedding photography mainly because I am shooting my first wedding in exactly a month from today. Right now I only have a rebel xs but its been a good camera. But what model of cameras in the future would you suggest for shooting weddings?? What all equipment should I have with me?? Whats the key to shooting quickly but efficiently?? It's going to be a small outdoor wedding, and I will be the only photographer. I would so love just a whole day with you to talk about wedding photography because I have so many questions!! 😉 lol Your work inspires me! You capture such beautiful pictures! I would appreciate any advice you could give me. Thank you so much! God bless!
Lauren 🙂
I have been following your blog for quite a while but have never said anything. So now I just want to say Congratulations on the baby!;-)
And I love your photography!
My brother is a photographer and his website is http://www.photographybyjack.com
Have a great week!

Just wanted to drop in and say hey! 🙂 I've followed your blog for a while now and I love seeing all the cute couples/families you shoot.
PS: You and your husband are an adorable couple! Can't wait to meet a young man as well suited to me as you two seem to be to each other. 🙂
PPS: Good luck with the babayy!
Hi Evy,
My question is.. do you have any tips on helping people act/smile natural? I like practicing on my brothers and I have the hardest time getting anything but 'cheesy' smiles from them.
Thanks!
Hi Evy, I've commented on here before but figured I'd submit a question for ya. 🙂 What are some good tips for interacting with clients during a shoot? I'm having a hard time trying to figure out how to have a balance between professional and relaxed. Can't quite figure out how to get natural smiles, expressions, etc. but not be goofy. 🙂
Thanks a bunch~
Rebekah
Hey Evy!
I've been following your blog for a little over a year now, and you're one of my favorite-est photographers ever I think….:) Your pictures are absolutely gorgeous..!! Congratulations on your baby as well…I can't wait to see pictures once he/she is born! One question I have is where you get posing inspiration, if you have any favorite resources you could share in regards to that. Thanks so much!
p.s. I just had creme brulee tonight, and thought of you. 🙂
Is it too late to ask a question?! 😉
What are the top 10 "things to know" when shooting a wedding? I just got asked to shoot my first, and Im a little nervous!
~Donna
Also, how do you make a picture into a good black and white?
